Earlier in my business, I reached out to a friend and asked her to help me film a video for my Facebook page that would describe my services.
After several attempts, I finally had something that I could use. One of my family members was horrified and tried to get me to take down the video. She said that the camera made me look as though I had a big chin.
I began to feel insecure because I just wanted a perfect profile video. However, the voice of my intuition urged me to leave the video alone. After all, it was the voice of my inner critic that demanded perfection, and my family member reflected it back to me. It’s easier to let go of perfectionism when we can find evidence that we are more than adequate.
I’m functioning just fine with my big chin, thank you very much.
Have you ever prayed for something and/or set an intention, but you never seem to receive an answer? It can be extremely frustrating and disappointing, especially when we are going through a difficult time.
However, I encourage you to consider another perspective. When we send out our prayers and intentions into the universe, are we open to receiving the subtle signs that our prayers are being answered even before we speak them? Perhaps we’re engaging in our constant mind chatter. There have been times when the constant mind chatter has kept me up at night, and it has even kept me from hearing my intuition.
Another reason that we may not believe that our prayers are being answered may be that we are expecting the answer to come to us in a certain way.For example, we may expect our answer to come to us in a dream. However, it may come to us through a song on the radio, a vision, or a gut feeling. If we are deadest on receiving the answer in a dream, we may miss the message altogether and assume that Spirit didn’t hear our prayers and intentions. As a result, we continue to repeat the cycle of asking, expecting a specific answer to come in a neat little package, and miss the message altogether.
Also, there are times when the answer is that we need to wait for something better, or maybe it just isn’t the right time. When I become frustrated by so-called unanswered prayers, Spirit assures me that they’re always listening.
When making an important decision, how do we know which choice is the “right” one? After all, what if that one decision will affect you for the rest of your life? Here are a few things to consider.
First of all, we live in a society which tends to judge things in black and white terms such as right and wrong. While this may be useful in some situations, it can cause us to become confused and indecisive. Each moment of every day, we are making choices. While some choices can lead to unwanted consequences and lead us down another path. Was it really the wrong decision, or did it give you the opportunity to choose something different the next time around?
Here is another thing to consider. When making decisions, do you make them from a place of fear and doubt? If the answer to that question is yes, you have an opportunity to explore your fears and doubts. Then, when you have started to work through the fear, you can make a more empowering decision.
Have you ever said “yes” to your inner guidance even when it didn’t make sense? How did it feel?
When we say “yes” to our intuitive guidance even when that guidance doesn’t make sense to our logical minds, it can bring up a lot of fears and insecurities. We can experience the fear of judgment by others or the fear of letting go of what is familiar to us.
However, saying “yes” to this type of guidance can be extremely rewarding. If we don’t take the risk of following our own inner guidance, we may miss valuable, exciting, and even life-changing opportunities.
For example, when I was ready to pursue my undergraduate degree, I got accepted into two different schools. One of those schools was closer and more affordable, and it would’ve been the logical choice. However, something didn’t feel right.
When I went to visit the second school, it just felt right. Although I work as a psychic medium, I’m glad that I pursued my undergraduate degree in social work.
I was given many opportunities and met many people who had an impact on my life because I followed my inner guidance, even though it didn’t make sense. In fact, that was even before I knew how to tap into my intuition on a daily basis. How does this play out in your own life?
Have you ever wondered why it seems easier to stay in the same job, relationship, or town even though it no longer serves you to do so? Have you ever been in a similar situation?
It’s definitely not your fault that you learned to settle for less and play it safe. However, playing it safe and settling for less isn’t the safer option. In fact, it could have unintended consequences.
For example, instead of exploring my spiritual interests, I was prepared to get my masters degree in social work. After all, my friends were taking this route, and they were successful. Also, several people had advised me to take this path. However, the voice of my intuition was not in agreement at all.
It took me a while, but I finally listened to the voice of my intuition. If I had gone right back to school, I would have graduated with twice as much student loan debt. Also, my stress level would’ve been pretty high because I wasn’t being true to myself.
As a result of that, I might not receive the grades that I wanted, and that wouldn’t sit well with me. Lastly, I wouldn’t be guaranteed a job after graduation.
Whenever you are tempted to settle for something in your life because it seems safer, I encourage you to check in with your intuition while weighing your options.
Have you ever worked so hard to achieve a goal, but then you don’t seem to notice the results of your efforts? This could happen for several reasons. I’d like to talk about one of those reasons in particular.
While it is your belief that nothing is happening, you may have actually accomplished more than you thought.
For example, there was a time when nothing seemed to be happening in my life despite setting intentions, maintaining a certain mindset, and taking action toward my goals. However, after some reflection, I noticed that I was actually well on my way to achieving my goals.
For instance, during that particular period in my life, I learned to trust my intuition and my spiritual team outside of my readings and ongoing mediumship development. I gained clarity and confidence in myself. Also, I learned to be present, and I learned to take action steps that are aligned with my goals and desires.
Although I did not notice the tangible results of my efforts right away, my goals and desires were beginning to manifest on the energetic level.
If we want to change our external circumstances and manifest our desires into physical form, then we must change our internal beliefs. You are more likely to notice subtle changes in your mindset before you notice a change in your external circumstances. That means that when you think nothing is happening, that may not be the case at all, and you are well on your way to manifesting your goals.
How would you react if you tuned into your intuition and there was complete silence? Would you be annoyed, or would you just accept it?
When I connect with Spirit, sometimes I do so in order to ask for clarity and guidance. One evening, I asked my guides a question.
However, I did not receive an answer, or at least that’s what my monkey mind led me to believe. However, the silence was actually a message about being present and taking time to quiet the mind chatter.
If I had allowed myself to become frustrated at the supposed lack of a response from Spirit, I would have missed the message altogether.
