I’ve heard people say that they’re not creative. I would have to disagree with that statement. If you believe that you’re a spiritual being in a physical body, then you are creative in some way.
You may not write a bestseller, compose a beautiful symphony, or paint a single picture in your lifetime. However, we have a spark of divinity within us, and the divine is the creative force in the universe. Therefore, it is only natural for that creative spark of divinity to express itself through us.
What would happen if musicians stopped following their soul’s urge to create? What would’ve happened if scientists like Albert Einstein kept their ideas to themselves? What would your life be like if you didn’t have a hand in creating it? Now, let’s go out there and create something amazing.
During the past year, I lost a close friend to cancer, found out that two of my friends have to leave their home, and made some business decisions that sent me into debt. On a more positive note, I began to read the Akashic records, gained clarity on how to move forward, increased my confidence as a medium, and gained even more appreciation for the people who have been supporting me on my journey.
Mostly, I’m learning to dance with the constant ebb and flow of life while allowing Spirit to take the lead. I’m learning to have compassion for myself. This is much more appealing than the state of resistance that we fall into at times.
It can be scary to live from the heart. It requires strength, courage and determination. When you choose this path, know that some people may not understand you and may even judge you. Some days, you may even feel lonely or slightly depressed. These periods are followed by the excitement and joy that comes from following your heart.
You may want to give up on your dreams, and there are going to be times when you’ll do anything to achieve them. This path can definitely feel like an emotional roller coaster at times, but it’s okay. Remember that you don’t have to do it alone.
For me, 2017 was a year of ups, downs, and everything in between. Did I reach the goals that I set at the beginning of 2017? No, and that’s okay.
I had the pleasure of entering a beauty pageant for blind women, which was way out of my comfort zone. However, by taking that chance, I gave myself the opportunity to expand my social circle, increase my confidence, and have some fun all at the same time. I made a new friend who lived in the same small town as me for years, but I was too shy to get to know people.
Also, I pushed past some of my insecurities and increased my online presence. I gained clarity around what I wanted in my life and my business.
Also, I released a lot of stuck emotions that were holding me back. No, I did not reach my goals in 2017, but I built some really strong foundations that will help me to reach my goals in 2018.
If you didn’t reach your 2017 goals and intentions, have compassion for yourself. Perhaps you needed to accomplish some things before you could achieve your goals. Maybe those goals and intentions weren’t meant for you in the first place because you were meant to receive something even better. Either way, here’s to an amazing and blessed 2018!
Have you ever said or thought phrases like, “That’s not good enough?”
While there are people who can easily shove these occasional thoughts aside, there are others who are holding onto an underlying belief that they’re not enough.
When I was in grade school and the teacher would ask me a question, I would claim that I didn’t know the answer even when I did. I was afraid to speak up in class because my answers might not be good enough. There were times when I felt that I needed to minimize my success and downplay my accomplishments because I wanted people to like me. Otherwise, I just wasn’t good enough. These are just some examples of how this belief can show up for us in our lives.
However, this does not have to be the case for any of us. First of all, see this belief for the lie that it is.
After all, if we are infinite spiritual beings who happen to be residing in human bodies at the moment, how can we truly be anything less than enough? Also, it can be helpful to explore the reasons for adopting these beliefs. During this process, I encourage you to seek support in order to deal with the strong feelings that may come up. While I still have this belief popping up from time to time, I try to keep things in perspective and have lots of compassion for myself. Sometimes, this is the best that we can do.
Have you ever felt as though you do not fit into society’s norms and expectations? It took me several years to realize that it’s okay.
You were created that way, and so was I. Many of us grew up with parents who were doing the 9 to 5 thing and trying to fit into the neat little boxes that were set out for them. Then, you come along. You may have been told that you’re too sensitive, too shy, or even weird. Maybe you have even been mislabeled as having one or more psychiatric conditions. Maybe you have even tried so hard to please others and to fit in that you actually developed one of those conditions.
Then, you may have decided that the 9 to 5 thing wasn’t really for you, so you ventured out into the unknown while you may have been told to get a real job and get it together.
Guess what? There’s absolutely nothing wrong with you. There is nothing wrong with the people in your life, either. They are doing the best they can with what they know, and so are you. You did not come here to fit into someone else’s box. You came here to be of service in your own unique way.
Whenever I’m about to go for something that I want, there is always a surge of excitement. However, the second that I’m about to take a big leap of faith in the direction of my desires, that little fear monster in my head tries to convince me that I’m not ready.
This can happen for one of two main reasons. Firstly, your intuition may be trying to tell you something. You may need more information before going forward, or the timing may not be right.
The second reason for your visit from the I’m not ready monster is fear. If this is the case, examine this fear more closely. Is it really justified? If not, go ahead with your leap of faith. Remember that you won’t have to do it alone.
You always have support from the spirit world, and you could always talk to a trustworthy friend, hire a coach, or find a mentor.
